Romanica Translations is a small business established in 2010 in the Pacific Northwest that offers services for certified translations, interpreting, transcription, and notarizations. The owner, Ionela Popescu, is a native speaker of Romanian, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in French and English, Master’s degree in French Literary Studies, is member of the American Translators Association (ATA), the Northwest Translators and Interpreters Society (NOTIS), is certified as an interpreter by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), and certified as a translator/interpreter by the Romanian Ministry of Justice since 2003. Ionela has also been a Notary Public in Washington State since 2011.
Ionela Popescu is a highly experienced professional translator and interpreter, who also worked as an English high school teacher, as an assistant professor of English as a Second Language, a French and Spanish teacher, and as a foreign credential evaluator (gave the U.S. educational equivalent for other countries). Her love and passion for foreign languages as well as her desire to help people are the main reasons why she decided to get deeply involved in the translation and interpreting field.
